Thank you for this collab, Jayme and Ariane. So much of it resonated -- the Britney abs (and every teen magazine selling me an ab routine), the infertility distrust, the peace that comes with letting a lot of that go. Raising a daughter has made me examine how I treat and talk about my body each day. She's starting ballet this fall after begging for a year, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous about all that comes with that. I'm hoping that we can figure it out together.
1000p Tricia! I didn't get into the whole raising a daughter of it all, but it's SO on my mind. We can do this! Thank you for reading and sharing, as always. xo
Ariane ❤️🩹 I feel this one deeply. The distrust in our own bodies that comes with infertility is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy - it’s such a complicated feeling when we feel like our bodies can’t do the one thing that they’re supposed to do by nature. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Love you!
Oof, this gave me goosebumps. Such a beautiful, vulnerable, honest reflection. I felt every word of it. Even though I’m in a different phase right now, it left me feeling hopeful – and a little less frustrated at my own body.
Thank you Jayme, for creating such a safe space for this level of vulnerability and thank you Ariane, for sharing your story. One of the many reasons this community on Substack 🤍The more we connect on this level, the more we realize just how much we all have in common🥹
Thanks for writing this beautiful piece Ariane!
